What Is Permanent Exterior Lighting, Exactly?

When should I book Christmas light installation?
Book by late October or early November to get the date you want. Nearly everyone wants the same three-week window, so the calendar fills fast and late bookings usually mean a later install than you'd like. Booking early also gives you more say over takedown timing in January.
Can I use my indoor Christmas lights outside?
No — and this one matters. Indoor-rated strands aren't sealed against water, and their wiring isn't built for freeze-thaw cycles. Used outdoors they're a genuine fire and shock risk, not just a durability problem.
Check the tag on the strand. If it doesn't say outdoor or indoor/outdoor rated, it stays inside.
